Dos Maderas Px Triple Aged 5 + 5 Rum 750 ML
|
Dos Maderas Double Aged 5+3 is first aged in oak casks for 5 years in the Caribbean (Guyana & Barbados) and then sailed across to Spain for an additional 3 years of aging in casks that once held the internationally acclaimed “Dos Cortados” 20-years-old Palo Cortado sherry.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Deep amber
Bouquet: Rich with aromas of pecan, vanilla, and smoky oak.
Flavor: Balanced with notes of ripe fruit and tropical spice over a smoky oak and tobacco finish, laced with hints of sherry.
This amber rum has elegant aromas of rich pecan, vanilla and a touch of smoky oak. Ripe fruit follows on the balanced palate, elevated by vibrant tropical spice and layered with a touch of smokiness, hints of sherry, and an intriguing note of tobacco on the finish.
About the Producer
Dos Maderas not only combines the best of two ageing methods on opposite sides of the globe, but also brings two cultures together. On the one hand is the rum producing heritage of Barbados and Guyana in the Caribbean, and on the other is the rich sherry tradition of Jerez in Spain, and specifically that of the historical bodega Williams & Humbert. Awarded with the National Architecture Prize, Williams & Humbert is the largest Bodega in Europe under a single roof and contains over 60,000 American oak casks for ageing sherry and brandy.
This sherry bodega was founded in 1877, and is now run by the Medina family, who have been in the wine business since the 1960s.
Williams & Humbert are internationally known for their Dry Sack Sherry and Gran Duque D’Alba, but in the 2000s the family decided to diversify. Like all of their other products, the new rum they envisioned would be something special.
