What is Craft Spirits Exchange?

Craft Spirits Exchange is the world’s first online community and marketplace that showcases craft, artisanal and other high-quality spirits. Our mission is to connect enthusiasts and novices alike with a broad selection of amazing spirits, and provide exclusive access to rare and limited release products from around the world. Through member reviews and tasting notes, fans can glean suggestions and opinions about spirits, cocktails, trends, events and more.

What is a "craft" spirit?

While there is no legal definition for the term, spirits enthusiasts often associate craft with batch size, type of still or yearly production. However, we at CSX take a broader approach, and believe a spirit can be considered craft if it showcases quality, attention to detail, the producer’s passion and perhaps tradition or history—no matter how much or how little of it is made each year.

Is CSX just an online store?

Not at all. While you have the ability to buy high quality craft, artisanal and rare spirits and products, CSX is much much more than that. CSX is also an online community that connects spirits enthusiasts with the products and drinks they love through reviews, ratings, articles, news, and events.

Is there a membership fee to join CSX?

No. It is always free to explore, rate and purchase products on CSX.

Where do you get the craft spirits featured on your site?

The craft spirits other products we offer come from select retailer partners who boast outstanding product portfolios. CSX gives users the opportunity to try bottles that they might not be able to purchase in your local retail store. How can I purchase a gift for someone on CSX?

Ordering products from CSX is a great way to celebrate someone's birthday, anniversary or other event. As long as the giftee is at least 21 years old, you can enter that person's shipping address. The giftee's packing slip will not include the prices of the items.

What if I am looking to purchase a product that's not currently offered on CSX?

Shipping Questions

How soon will my order ship?

Orders placed on CSX are sent either via FedEx Ground or UPS. You can expect your order within 3 to 7 business days from your order confirmation depending on your location and the products ordered. You will receive tracking information for your order as soon as it is shipped by our retail partners.

Do I need to be home to receive my package?

An adult who is at least 21 years old must sign for your package when it's delivered. If no one is home or there is not an adult to sign for it, the carrier will leave a note on the door and attempt delivery two more times. After three tries, the package will either be returned, or kept at the FedEx Ground or UPS facility for several days until you can retrieve it. Returned shipments are subject to a 10% restocking fee.

Is it better to ship my order to my work or home address?

Since an adult aged 21 or over must sign for your package, we highly recommend that you ship it to your place of work. Please note that you cannot send orders to a P.O. Boxes.

Where can I ship an order placed on CSX?

Due to alcohol shipping laws in different states, certain spirits can only be shipped to certain states. As such, some products may not be available in your area. Please enter your ZIP code to ensure your product is available at checkout.

How can I track my order?

There will be a tracking number in the confirmation email you will receive after your order ships.

I just received a tracking number, but it doesn't work. What's wrong?

It can take up to 72 hours for a tracking number to appear in a shipper's system. If you still haven't received a tracking number after that time, please email us and we are happy to look into it.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated based on weight of package and origin and destination. You will receive an estimated shipping total prior to checkout.

Can I return an order?

We want to make sure you are happy with your order. If you receive a product in error, or if the order arrives damaged, please contact us at help@drinkCSX.com. We'll work to make it right.

I order several products but didn't receive all of them in the same package. Issue?

CSX sources the best craft spirits from select retailer partners from across the country. In order to fulfill your entire order, we may need to reach out to several retailers, so you may receive several packages for one order. As parts of your order ship, you will receive a tracking number for each one. If you have any questions, please email us at help@drinkCSX.com.

My order arrived damaged. What should I do?

All packages are carefully packed to avoid damage in transit. If your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us immediately at help@drinkCSX.com with your order details and a picture of the damaged product. We are happy to make it right. However, all damage claims must be submitted within 72 hours of receiving your package to be considered for replacement or refund.

What is the "Additional Charge" fee noted on my order?

For large orders that cannot be shipped in a single package, our retail partners charge a additional "Large Order" fee that pays for the additional shipping & handling charges required for large orders. This fee is $20 or $40 depending on the number of bottles in your order.

Can I request my package to be held at a FedEx or UPS location?

Unfortunately - due to the requirements of our shipping and insurance partners related to online fraud, we are unable to honor requests to hold packages at FedEx and UPS locations. We recommend shipping all orders to a business address when possible and/or schedule your delivery day and time to ensure someone 21+ is available to receive and sign for your order upon delivery.

Payment Questions

Can I purchase spirits and other products over the phone?

Not right now, but it's easy and safe to purchase products on our website.

Is my credit card safe on your site?

We take security seriously and take every precaution to ensure your information is safe. All transactions are handled over SLL and we use a PCI Level 1 Provider for all credit card processing – the most stringent certification available.

Where is the security code located on my credit card?

On Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards, you will see the three digit number on the back of the card near the signature. American Express cards have a four digit number, which is on the front of the card above the credit card number.

When will I be charged for my order?

You will only be charged for an order once a retailer as accepted and shipped it.

How much sales tax will I need to pay for my order?

The amount of sales tax depends upon what you order and where it's shipped.
