This Irish whiskey has complex spicy, fruity and complex wood aromas.The full-flavored palate is a harmonious blend of spicy, creamy, fruity, Sherried and toasted notes, while the finish is satisfyingly long, with the complex flavors linger on the palate. The whiskey is a single-pot spirit, made from both unmalted and malted barley, double-distilled in copper pot stills and aged in casks that were previously used to mature Oloroso Sherry. Full of aroma and flavors, with a trademark Christmas cake character, the spirit was named Irish Whiskey of the Year in 2011 by Malt Advocate.
