AMBHAR Añejo is a delicately aged tequila, resting in premium whiskey oak barrels for over two years. The extended amount of aging produces its dark amber color and caramel-like notes. This spirit inherits unique flavors of soft and silky mixtures of vanilla and candied citrus peel. Its fuller body makes it a perfect ultra-premium tequila for sipping. Each product is an artisanal, ultra-premium tequila, handcrafted in small batches from the finest 100% blue agave. Our batches of tequila are produced in a small distillery in Jalisco, Mexico and then hand-poured into our signature, elegant glass decanter that resemble canteens used by cowboys in the Old West. Each decanter is hand-numbered and topped off with the special AMBHAR dragonfly charm for good luck. Made from 100% blue agave, Ambhar Añejo is aged in oak bourbon barrels for at least two years, giving this Añejo a whiskey-brown color and a deep, cocoa-inflected flavor. The agave is, surprisingly, stronger in the Añejo than in the Reposado, and it’s balanced by caramel notes. Lots of wood here, still, as you’d expect, but slightly better balance than the Reposado.

Color: Amber

Nose: Sharp aromas of clove and cinnamon with suggestions of kindled green vegetables.

Palate: Soft and silky mixture of vanilla and candied citrus peel.

Finish: Rich and smoky.

Food Pairing: Beef, lamb, pasta and fall vegetables such as squash.

Chattanooga Distillery craft whiskey at two locations: The Experimental Distillery and The Riverfront Distillery. The Experimental Distillery, open to the public for tours and tastings, pushes the boundaries of whiskey-making, crafting one-of-a-kind whiskeys that can’t be found anywhere else. Our Riverfront Distillery serves as the production home of our signature Tennessee High Malt bourbon.

Opened in March 2017 and located in downtown Chattanooga, the Riverfront Distillery transformed a historic car dealership into one of the largest craft bourbon distilleries in the South. This location serves as the production site of our signature Tennessee High Malt, our unique style of straight bourbon whiskey.

This grain-to-glass distillery is home to the custom-made 30ft Vendome copper column still and 100-gallon pot-still style double. With room to age more than 4,500 barrels of whiskey, the dunnage-style heated barrelhouse ebbs and flows with the hot & humid summers and mild winters of the Tennessee River Valley. Nestled inside the 46,000 square foot distillery is our 4,000-gallon charred, white oak Solera barrel, which finishes the signature Chattanooga Whiskey 91.
