Heaven's Door is an award-winning collection of handcrafted American whiskeys co-created with iconic musician and artist, Bob Dylan. The perfect blend of art and craft, each bottle of Heaven's Door showcases Dylan's distinctive welded iron gates that he created in his studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks.
This 10-Year Tennessee Straight Bourbon is richly complex yet uncompromisingly smooth. Following distillation, the whiskey is sugar maple mellowed in Tennessee before entering new white oak barrels for aging—a method known as the “Lincoln County Process.”
This blend of two different barrel lots, hand-selected from the middle tier of the rackhouse, highlights how complex flavors develop over 10+ years of aging. This limited release bourbon is presented in a commemorative box with a printing of Bob Dylan’s hand-typed lyrics of his seminal songs “Maggie’s Farm” and “Subterranean Homesick Blues.”
Tasting Notes:
The low rye content also allows the best of a decade of a barrel aging to shine through. On the nose, there is an immediate aroma of fresh multigrain baked bread and ripened nougat. The mid-palate mouthfeel is rounded out with semi-sweet flavors of grilled pineapple and candied walnuts. On the finish you will find a perfect balance of sweet and savory with cooked peaches and steeped tobacco.
Serve in a tumbler at or near room temperature on the rocks, neat, or with a splash of distilled water.
