The distillation on the lees is a complex and meticulous process but it gives our VSOP Fine Cognac fruity and musk notes, evoking jasmine aroma.

From our insistence on ageing in oak barrels. After several years in our French fine-grained oak barrels, the spirit develops nutty notes and ages to produce a sweet, caramelized flavor resembling that of toasted almonds. Peach Evolving from the meticulous selection of the best wines from cognac region, which, when distilled and aged, begin to conjure the soft, luscious aroma of ripe peach.

About the Producer

Courvoisier is a brand of cognac, with production based in the town of Jarnac in the Charente region of France. It is the youngest and smallest of the "big four" cognac houses (the others are Hennessy, Rémy Martin, and Martell)

Courvoisier has also been described as the most untypical of the big four. It controls every step of its production process but does no distilling of its own, changes the process for different vintages and regional variations in eaux-de-vie, and has never owned vines. In 2019, it exported approximately 1.4 million nine-litre cases of its cognacs.

The brand has been owned by several companies in recent years from Allied Domecq in the 1990's, Beam Global (later Beam Suntory) thereafter, and most recently Campari Group since December 2023.

Welcome to Maison Courvoisier, a cognac house like no other. Built by four families and spanning three cultural cities, the history of Maison Courvoisier stands as a testament to the spirit of Jarnac and the bright lights and sophistication of Paris and London. Courvoisier is an invitation to celebrate who we are, what we stand for and where we come from. This is our story.

Louis Gallois set up a wine and spirits company, Gallois Cellars, on the outskirts of Paris with his original business partner Emmanuel Courvoisier. Gallois had been developing contacts for many years, particularly with the upper échelons of Napoléon’s imperial army. These relationships proved successful many years later when Napoléon Bonaparte took the throne in 1804.
