Product Details

This single malt Scotch provides a provocative and intense tasking experience. Aromas of almonds, toffee and baked bread are followed on the palate with notes of spice, chocolate and coffee; the finish hints at caramel, pear, cinnamon and nutmeg. The whisky is made from golden barley sourced from the rich, coastal soils of the Black Isle, and fermented with water from the Comarty Firth. It’s first aged for fourteen years in American ex-Bourbon casks, after which the whisky is transferred to Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks for three additional years of maturation, which lends it even more complexity.

About the Producer

Since 1839, when it was founded by Alexander Matheson, Scotland’s Dalmore Distillery has been producing exceptional single malt whisky. For almost a century, it was owned by the Clan Mackenzie, whose defining influence of the distillery is still evident today, with the iconic royal stag’s antlers—taken from the family crest—adorning each bottle. Located on the shores of the Firth of Cromarty deep in the Scottish Highlands, the distillery uses water from Loch Morie, and golden barley from the rich coastal soils of the black isle. Their whisky is matured in sea-facing traditional dunnage warehouses. The Dalmore brand was originally owned by Whyte & Mackay, and was sold in 2014 to Emperador Distillers of the Philippines.
