This Pinhook True Single Barrel Select, is a single barrel release specially selected by Jensen's Liquors.

The True Single Barrel program was created out of the belief that every Pinhook single barrel should be selected on its individuality, rather than its conformity. Each barrel is bottled at cask strength to highlight the exact expression which made the whiskey stand out of the crowd.

Every year, Pinhook releases a new bourbon and rye, each connected to a promising young thoroughbred. The whiskey in each release is the best expression of our barrels at that moment in time, and we blend and proof releases to be as unique as the horse on the label. The Vertical Series is a one-time opportunity to follow a group of barrels, all filled within months of each other, as they age.

Pinhook crafts distinctive bourbons and ryes each year by applying a winemaker’s approach to whiskey. Using careful barrel selection, small-batch blending, and bottling at the perfect proof to enhance its distinct qualities, we relentlessly pursue the complexity and balance that make each new vintage as intriguing as the promising young thoroughbred on its label.

American whiskey is traditionally blended to replicate an established flavor profile, then bottled at a fixed proof, year in and year out. Breaking with this standard, Pinhook releases its whiskeys in vintages that take their cues from that year’s mature barrels, which have been shaped by natural variations in the ingredients, the oak of the barrels themselves, and the conditions in which they’re stored.
