Traditional bourbons invite three grains into their mash bill: corn, rye, and barley. Four Grain bourbon includes the additional wheat grain into the mash, making for the most complex flavor of any bourbon on the market.

4 Grain & Spire is distilled with corn, rye, malted barley, and wheat, making for a bold, flavorful spirit. Once distilled, they age the bourbon in new French Oak barrels producing a rich, deep yet sweet spirit. A broad array of flavors emerges, encompassing notes such as orange peel, vanilla, cloves, and caramel.

Before the four-grain whiskey enters the bottle, they bring it to life with a torched French Oak spire, adding a delicate balance of orange spice, butterscotch, and vanilla. Another level of flavor and complexity to this unique bourbon.

Now that this masterpiece is bottled, the work of finishing begins. Unlike traditional finished whiskey, they do not rest the whiskey in a secondary cask but finish it y in-bottle. They do this by placing a 5" long spiral-cut piece of wood, cut from the same species of wood as the finishing barrel into our bottle. In the 4 Grain & Spire, they cut a Spire from French Oak, porous and rich, containing nearly twice the number of natural botanicals as American Oak, creating a rich, fruity, silky finish.

Before they place the spire into the bourbon, it is exposed to fire, technically a Medium Toast, toasting the wood to the perfect degree that will produce a finish that is deep and rich with subtle notes of candied fruit, vanilla, orange spice, and caramel.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: The nose is deep, rich, sweet, and complex.

Finish: Finished with the deep richness.

Mashbill: 55% Corn, 23% Wheat, 18% Rye, 4% Malted barley.

About the Producer

Sanctified Spirits Company

Founded by Joe Giildenzopf, Jamie Giildenzopf and Brad Neathery, Oak & Eden is a product of Texas-based Sanctified Spirits Company. The innovative finishing process they use for their whiskeys involves putting a spiral of wood in their bottles of bourbon and rye. The tight five-inch spirals are crafted from American white oak, allowing a maximum surface area for the whiskey to interact with the wood.

Oak & Eden was born out of an ideal for innovation. Oak & Eden believes authority is released when a creator creates, and that everyone carries the spirit of creation in them. Because of that, they pioneered a precious technique that would become the lifeblood of Oak & Eden; in-bottle finishing.

It's what makes whiskey taste like whiskey. When someone prefers a certain flavor in a whiskey, they are really saying they like the naturally occurring flavors that come from the barrel wood the whiskey was aged in.

At Oak & Eden, they follow traditional distillation and aging to the letter, aging the whiskeys for at least three years in American Oak barrels.

Oak & Eden breaks tradition in the finishing (or double barrel) process, where instead of putting fully aged whiskey in a second barrel to add more flavor coming naturally from the wood, they place in the bottle a Spire; a spiral-cut piece of oak fashioned from the same species and treatment as barrel oak.

This allows the whiskey to "finish" or flavor naturally, producing rich, sweet flavors that could only come from the power of wood.
