Yellow Spot Whiskey was last seen in Ireland in the mid to late 1960s, created and sold by Mitchell & Son Wine and Spirit Merchants. Inspired by the original, this spirit is the rare taste of a bonder’s style pot still Irish whiskey. Maturation in Bourbon barrels, Sherry butts and Malaga casks creates a superbly complex whiskey with fresh and sweet top notes that won it a Gold medal at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

"The midpalate is quite spicy for an Irish whiskey but it manages to keep the spice fairly well balanced."

Product Details

This Irish whiskey has aromas of mown hay and cracked black pepper, along with red bell pepper, nutmeg, clove oil, green tea, sweet honey and peaches. The palate shows honey sweetness and pot still spices, along with flavors of fresh coffee, creamy milk chocolate, creme brulee, red apples and toasted oak, and a finish that’s sophisticated and complex, with hints of red grape and dried barley at the end. About the Producer

Yellow Spot Whiskey is produced for Mitchell & Son of Dublin by Irish Distillers at the Midleton Distillery in Cork, Ireland. It is one of the few remaining bonded Irish whiskeys, and is currently the only brand specifically produced for and sold by an independent wine merchant in Ireland. Mitchell & Son wine merchants were established in 1805.

A very Smooth and Easy Whiskey

    (Posted on 9/3/2018)

We first had this while Staying in Dublin for our summer vacation. In contrast with a Scotch which has a robust taste. This product is very easy on the mouth with a soft and delicate palate. This is a great Whiskey to have either Neat or with just one or two ice cubes as if you water it down to much, you will lose some of the flavor.
