Product Details

This whiskey has flavors of caramel corn sweetness mingles with butterscotch and licorice. The finish shows a soft mouthfeel that evolves into subtle spices of pepper and tobacco. As founding father of the Bourbon industry, Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. left an indelible legacy. His dedication to distilling began at the close of the Civil War when he purchased O.F C. Distillery. There, he developed innovative techniques that are still in use today. Made by hand, this small batch Bourbon whiskey has been aged inside century old warehouses constructed by E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrels are evaluated and selected to create a perfect blend of distinctive character that is like no other. This spirit is a true sipping bourbon that honors the uncompromising legacy of E.H. Taylor, Jr, and it won a Gold medal at San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017

About the Producer

Colonel E. H. Taylor, Jr. Whiskey is produced in Kentucky at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, named for the buffalo that carved paths through the wilderness that led America’s first pioneers westward. Situated on the banks of the Kentucky River, the site has had a working distillery since 1787, but the official Buffalo Trace production began in 1857. It obtained one of only four permits offered during Prohibition to maintain production for "medicinal purposes." Today, the distillery sits on a picturesque one hundred nineteen acres designated a National Historic Landmark in 2013, and produces several labels of Bourbon.

EH Taylor Small Batch is tops

    (Posted on 9/20/2017)

Great bourbon. Very smooth particularly for 100 proof. A few drops of water smooth the heat for those who might find it to be too strong, but it mellows very well and quickly poured neat. Packaging is tops too which makes for a very nice gift.

    One for Every Drinkers Shelf

    (Posted on 3/15/2017)

E.H. Taylor when available is an absolute must buy. Having tried many of BTs offerings this is by far one for the finest out there. It stands up to just about any bourbon under 100 dollars. It has a sweet and citrusy taste on the lips and barely even burns going down for the proof. A must purchase.

    Great Everyday Drinker

    (Posted on 1/3/2017)

Initial tastes of sweet corn and caramel turn to a mildly spicy tobacco. Sweet and pleasant on the nose. Medium lasting finish leaves you wanting more. Falls in the everyday drinker category for me.
