Product Details

Steeped with the spirit of the land, from bright citrus to smoky wood, this small batch Tequila tempts with agave aromas and the earth’s purest spice. It’s fermented to the sounds of classical music (the producer is partial to Mozart), before “resting” for two months in American white oak barrels. This short time in cask imparts just a hint of color as well as some mellowness, making it equally appealing as a sip-able spirit as well as a mixable one. Try it in the Deer and a Beer: a shot or Reposado alongside an ice cold long neck bottle of beer and a lime wedge.

About the Producer

Cazadores Tequila was founded in 1922 by Jose Maria in Arandas in Los Altos, in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Maria began making Tequila in secret; in 1973, his descendants built a distillery and began marketing and distributing their product. The name “cazadores” translates as “hunters,” and there is an image of a stag on each bottle. Fermenting is done to the sounds of classical music, which the producers believe make a high quality product. In 2002, the brand was acquired by Bacardi.

    My go-to general tequila

    (Posted on 7/2/2016)

This was my first "real" tequila. I was in a Mexican border town negotiating the price on some jewelry and this was brought out at the end to celebrate the deal. I was amazed at the difference from the "normal" low end tequila. While this isn't the best out there, it is still one of my favorites for anything from an after work glass on the rocks, making an awesome marinade for some grilled chicken or anything else that comes my way. I find it to be smooth, with a light flavor and nice finish.
