Product Details

Pale gold in color, this double-distilled Haitian rum offers up aromas of vanilla and pepper. The palate is powerful, smooth and well-balanced, while the finish shows notes of prunes and orange marmalade. Distilled not from molasses but from the juice of the pressed sugar cane, the spirit is Aged eight years in oak, lending it a powerful, smooth and well-balanced character. It’s excellent neat, or splashed on the rocks with a zest of lemon to bring out its subtleties.

About the Producer

In 1862, Dupré Barbancourt, a native of the Charente region in France, put the finishing touches on the recipe for his rum, which uses a double distillation method usually reserved for the finest Cognacs. When he died, the company passed to his wife Natalie, who manAged it with the help of her nephew Paul Gaudère, who took it over upon her death. Today, the fourth generation of the Gaudère family leads the company, which is now the leading brand of rum in Haiti.
