Product Details

Remy Martin 1738 Accord Royal Cognac is in recognition of the grant from King Louis to Remy Martin to expand his vineyard. They call it "mellow and rich." It is made from a blend of 65% Grande Champagne and 35% Petite Champagne grape. The 2010 Wine Enthusiast review agreed, claiming "Despite the big-brute flavor, it has a mellow finish." Remy Martin was founded in 1724 by the man Remy Martin. Cognac was first produced over a century later in 1830. The centaur on every bottle is an homage to the zodiac sign (Sagittarius) of the founder as well as "an alliance of man and nature." In modern times, their cognacs are made exclusively from grapes grown in the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne regions. All aging is done exclusively in French Limousin Oak, which they feel lends greater intensity to the flavor.

About the Producer

Rémy Martin founded his Cognac house in 1724, and the company specializes in Cognac Fine Champagne. Since 2011, the brand has been owned by Rémy Cointreau, a company established in 1991.
