  • AGING:

Gonzalez Byass Lepanto Solera Gran Reserva is a brandy made from Palomino grapes aged in American oak sherry casks. The aging is done with the solera method, which involves reserving a small portion of the oldest barrel and marrying that with the next oldest. In this way, it is said there are some brandies in each bottle decades old (think of gas in your tank as being filled in the solera method where they might be some very, very old gas in there from when you first acquired the car). They say the average age is 12 years.

"Sweet, dry, caramel and grape are the most prominent flavours in this Brandy"

Product Details

Gonzalez Byass traces its heritage to Manuel Maria Gonzalez Angel who founded a winery in Jerez, Spain in 1835 and later partnered with Robert Blake Byass in 1885 to form the official company. Today, they say the board of directors for the company are 4th and 5th generation family members with the vast majority of stock owned by family members as well. In modern times, they have acquired a number of different labels among both wine and spirits.
